Jeremy Sorensen is the founder of Resilient Veteran Adventures, bringing together extensive experience in military service, public safety, outdoor leadership, and counseling. He served honorably in the United States Air Force for six years and later worked as a commissioned Tennessee State Park Ranger for more than five years.

During a deployment to Baghdad, Iraq, Jeremy sustained a traumatic brain injury (TBI) and a ruptured spinal disc. Following his transition from military service, he faced significant challenges related to post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other service-related injuries. After conventional treatment proved unsuccessful, Jeremy turned to the outdoors in search of healing.

He embarked on a thru-hike of the 2,197-mile Appalachian Trail, completing the journey from Georgia to Maine in five months and seven days. The experience became a transformative period of nature-based healing, providing renewed purpose, resilience, and personal growth. This journey inspired Jeremy to dedicate his life to helping fellow veterans discover the therapeutic benefits of nature and outdoor recreation.

Today, Jeremy is a passionate advocate for nature-based and outdoor recreation therapy, with a mission to improve the mental, emotional, and physical well-being of veterans through immersive outdoor experiences. His personal journey serves as the foundation of Resilient Veteran Adventures and informs the organization's veteran-centered approach to healing and community building.

Jeremy holds a Master of Arts in Christian Ministry and Small Groups and a Bachelor of Science in Counseling. His professional credentials include certifications as a Tennessee State Park Ranger, Emergency Medical Response Technician (EMRT), Swiftwater Rescue Technician, and National Association for Interpretation (NAI) Interpretive Guide. Combined with his extensive field experience, these qualifications provide a strong foundation for leading impactful outdoor therapeutic programs for veterans.
